  • CRU is for any Journeyman, Foreman, Supervisor, or Crew Leader.

  • The sooner the better. 4 weeks or more notice is ideal. Occasionally we can schedule a training course at shorter notice, dependent on availability from our safety instructor. If you have any concerns about the availability of a particular course, you can contact us via email at nicole@ircc.org.

  • Training courses are held at any of our IRCC Training sites. Or, for your convenience, the training courses can be held at your facility.

  • Learning does not end when your apprentice graduates and becomes a Journeyman. CRU exists to train and develop your crew leadership team, while helping your business maintain a safe work environment for your employees.

    Leaders Growing New Trainers: Long term, CRU aims to develop each participating company’s learning culture, and hopefully instill a respect for the training process to inspire a few Master Journeymen to join the growing faculty for both the IRCC apprenticeship training program and the California Roofer University.

  • Yes. Each course comes with a completion certificate.

  • Yes. There are 3 Track’s:

    • Advanced Safety – 48 hours

    • Leadership – 40 hours

    • Advanced Technical – 21 hours

    Once your journeyman completes the required number of hours training for each track, the hours are then submitted and sent to the State of California, Department of Industrial Relations. Upon completion, each Journeyman will receive a Certificate of Completion from the DIR.
